ORANGE Citrus sinensis
Uses: Indications for wild or sweet orange include: immune weakness, exposure to airborne pathogens, respiratory infections, cramps, indigestion, spasms,
prenatal heartburn, fluid retention, muscular discomforts, cellulite, infant yellowing of the skin, and fatigue. Orange can also be used to naturally cleanse laundry and surfaces before and after a birth. Emotionally, it is uplifting, energizing, and cooling. It is indicated for fear, anxiousness, depressed mood, and troubled sleep, and can bring in joy, sunlight, and sweetness.
To use orange essential oils as a natural cleaner, add 5 drops for each ounce of liquid or 10 to each load of laundry. Add five drops of orange to felted wool for a natural (and much better smelling) dryer sheet.
Precautions: Mildly photosensitizing. Check species name for use with these indications; common names include “wild orange” and “sweet orange”.
