DNE founder, Stephanie McBride (formerly Stephanie Pearson), is a passionate advocate for the use of essential oils as a form of natural self-care and in clinical practice, from the moment of conception on. Her 25 years of botanical medicine study, coupled with her clinical experience as a functional nutritionist and practical experience as a mother, provide the in-depth knowledge necessary to simplify an ancient health modality.
Stephanie is a mother of three, published author, professional educator, and business coach. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Stephanie earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon with a double major in Environmental Studies and English Literature. A love for volunteer work in sustainable agriculture and an internship in organic herb farming led her to pursue post-graduate studies in biology, chemistry, folk and eclectic herbalism, functional nutrition, and naturopathy. After five years of clinical practice, she spend a year exclusively researching the use of essential oils in each phase of maternity and in infant care. Her collaboration with other birth professionals she developed her educational tools for essential oil use in maternity.
