HELICHRYSUM Helichrysum italicum
Uses: A good substitute for the homeopathic remedy arnica, helichrysum is a highly valued oil for easing puffiness and recovery from tissue damage, including postpartum healing. When there is support needed to regulate the flow of blood or to care of tissues and skin, or to heal emotion trauma, helichrysum is our best ally. It is most frequently used in maternity for muscular discomfort, water retention, infantile and maternal recovery (from birth), and perineum care, and as a remedy for reactive conditions, such as dry skin, irritation in the lungs, sinus irritation. Helichrysum is nice in combination with lavender and wild or sweet orange in a topical infant dilution of one drop per Tablespoon for any respiratory imbalance.
Emotionally, this oil supports stress response, phobias, and depressed mood. Apply to the heart and sacrum chakras for recovery from a traumatic event.
Precautions: Avoid helichrysum with homeopathic remedies because it may act as antidote.
